Terraformed Venus

Shortly After the terraforming of Mars began to show real results, a number of interest groups and NGOs began pushing for the terraforming of Venus. A considerably more difficult task by comparison, Venus required not the addition of an atmosphere, but rather the removal of one. Using molecular assemblers a series of great "Atmospheric Compressors" were constructed across the surface of the planet, taking in the CO2 and Sulfer Dioxide atmosphere and converting it into breathable air and water. Bolstered by the positioning of several Solar Shields in orbit to block the suns rays, Venus began to develop a livable climate. By the 2070s most nations have established colonies on the surface, taking advantage of the stable, albiet very tropical climate.
