NOTE: POKEMON IS A MEDIA FRANCHISE PUBLISHED AND OWNED BY NINTENDO AND ITS CREATOR SATOSHI TAJIRI, THEY ARE NOT MY PROPERTY AND THIS IS PURELY A FANWORK.

Ok, yes I was, and to some extent remain, a huge fan of the Pokemon universe (I stopped playing the games after Emerald, and stopped watching the series after Johto). However, like many fans who watched the show from the beginning (yes, I do occasionally dust off Red Version or Watch Season 1 during my man periods) or played the games long enough, after awhile it becomes clear that the traditional calls of there, "being too many of them," are more true than we once thought, mainly because Nintendo is blatantly copying their own work.

Now I'm going to look the other way on the Unova region, because from what I understand it is technically not part of the Pokemon world we've known since the beginning (Its the North America to the old region's Asia). Everyone else, however, is fair game, but I would like to point out some criteria for my deletions.

1.) Pokemon MUST MAKE SENSE: Pokemon must either be analogs to real-world organisms, or at the very least abide by the conventions set out by the original 151. If its just an excuse to draw a furry (Lucario) or just poorly drawn (Heatran) I won't take is seriously and neither should you.

2.) Evolutions MUST SERVE A PURPOSE, making a poorly drawn evolution of Tangela that looks almost identical to its pre-evolved version is completely meaningless and completely unnecessary.

3.) NO REPEATS: If they don't even try to classify it as a different species, or even make it a different type, Its going in the can (i.e. Skitty is gone because we already have a normal type cat pokemon, its called Meowth.)

4.) The Original 151 are perfect in every way even if Jinx is a racist stereotype that only a country as backwards as Japan could spit out, and as such they are to be left alone.

Note: These rules are not entirely subject to alien or legendary Pokemon, who are often alluded to be older than the other species.

OK, with that in mind I look forward to your hate mail.

If you were doing Generations 5 and 6, which ones would you keep?
Bear in mind that the "no repeats" rule wouldn't necessarily apply for those, because they (in Generation 5 especially, where older Pokemon simply weren't available) were deliberately designed as counterparts to other Pokemon.
