Given the remaining candidates out of the initial crop of crazy; and the nature of the Republican Party in the last three years alone (not counting their actions under the Bush administration); isn't it time we wrote them off and called for a new Conservative Party? Lets face it; short of a Constitutional Amendment establishing Instant Runoff voting; this is the best option we have right now.
Its important to note that this is how politics has worked in America since the Federalists and the Democratic-Republicans; every time one party fell out of touch with the interests of the public, they found themselves being replaced by someone more appropriate. The Federalists were replaced by the Whigs, Democrat-Republicans were replaced by the Democrats, the Whigs were replaced by the Republicans. With the current GOP swap of Congressional and Presidential candidates all championing platforms that are either antiquated, xenophobic, or ineffective at actually addressing this country's problems; its time the Republicans were replaced by a new party.
Suppose this party was led by people like former Florida Governor Charlie Crist, or former US Ambassador to China and Utah Governor Jon Huntsman; and built by the countless unknown, but honest and disenfranchised members of the Republican Party who've watched the GOP become a mutilated shell of the Party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Eisenhower.
Imagine a Conservative Party that was willing to have a real debate with the left, stood up for small business owners, farmers, and the middle class. Imagine a Conservative Party that championed an innovation and entrepreneurial enterprise; encouraging people to go and start their own businesses and lowering taxes and easing regulations on start up companies. Imagine a Conservative Party that believed in protecting America's natural beauty as Teddy Roosevelt did. Imagine a Conservative Party that firmly believed that while Freedom of Religion must be protected, Church and State must remain separate. Imagine a Conservative Party that champions Welfare and Medicare Reform; saying that we cannot ask those who are genuinely struggling to pay for the laziness of those who are not. Imagine a Conservative Party that believes the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and while atrocities abroad may be tragic and heart wrenching, a steady and dispassionate hand must be the only thing that excercises our military.
Imagine that kind of a Conservative Party for America, and then imagine the kind of a debate we could see in this country.

Yes I'm usually liberally prone, but I want a Conservative party for this country that can keep the left in check when they start suggesting some really dumb ideas of their own.

This is four years old but has only become more relevant. Now in 2016 the Conservative American is given the choice between egotistical loudmouth Trump and Dominium Christian Cruz. Suddenly a President Hillary Clinton does not sound so bad....
